She works with creative and entrepreneurial women, helping them launch service-centered passion projects and businesses within 90 days. Babes Who Brunch Club was born when Natalie noticed a trend. Her clients desired more friendships with like-minded women. Babes Who Brunch Club is a community and event series for women in pursuit of healthy lifestyles and big dreams!

The events take place in NYC and LA with plans of expanding to more cities. When Natalie isn’t between NYC, LA, and MIA, you’ll find her traveling around the world in search of new experiences, new cultures, amazing people, and fun!

You aim to inspire women. Tell us why this is so important to you, and how you were motivated to create your business.

Everything I do is about inspiring women to live fully and to help them unleash their full potential. I watched my mother fight for her life in a six-year battle with cancer. She lost the battle when I was eleven.

The main thing I learned from that experience is that life may not always be long, but it can be beautiful. We get to do everything in our power to live while we have the chance. Despite this understanding, loving my life didn’t come easily. In fact, I battled with depression of varying degrees from 11 to about 21 years old and I still have moments where I struggle.

At 15 years old, I knew I wanted to study psychology. Even then, I took college courses in high school, so I could enter college as a declared Psych major. After graduating, I decided to travel. I spent three months in India, then moved to North Carolina on a whim to work as a behavioral counselor. It was two years later that I returned home to New York and obtained my MA in Applied Psychology from NYU.

The fact that my program was a study of human development with a focus on social justice, made it unique. This special experience shaped my work tremendously. That said, it was early into my master’s program that I realized I no longer wanted to pursue a Ph.D. I wanted to pursue coaching instead.

In a twist of fate, I started a corporate sales job a few months after graduating and simultaneously invested in a program learning how to build an online business. I started by coaching women about confidence-building and self-love.

My career shifted when women started seeking me out. They wanted me to teach them the business side of things. It became apparent that even women who hired me to help them build confidence were freedom-seeking and adventurous souls who wanted to work for themselves. They were, in many ways, like me.

That said, I didn’t fully step into that role until I quit my corporate job, traveled to Bali for two months, got my yoga teaching certification, and returned to NYC. That’s when I launched the event series Babes Who Brunch Club.

Babes Who Brunch Club is networking reimagined. It’s an event series that encourages anyone who identifies as women, to come together on a near-monthly basis, to connect over a myriad of topics ranging from self-love to building a business.

We also organize self-care and wellness events to help make wellness more accessible. The events have been put on hold for the time being, except for some virtual programming. But, we’re ready to come back stronger than ever once it’s safe to gather again. Now, I spend all my energy working with women on mindset, strategy, and community building. I support them in launching service-centered online businesses in 90 days!

You said you’d gone into corporate life first but were drawn to coaching. Was there something that said this is the right path for you? What made you choose to create events vs. a standard run business?

When I first started out, I fumbled around the internet without a clue. How should I find clients? How should I package my services, let alone build a brand? Things changed when I finally invested in a coaching program that walked me through the steps.

I began coaching almost immediately after investing in my coaching program by closing my first two clients within a week. I did this without a website, social media presence, or really much of anything! It was a turning point and showed me what was possible.

I wish I could say it was smooth sailing from there, but I also worked a sales job that required 60 hours a week, taught Zumba twice a week, babysat, and tried to maintain a social life. Doing all of this while building a business was overwhelming.

It was when I began focusing less on other things and investing more time in building my social media presence that I saw the most growth. This is how most of my clients find me today!

Then, things really shifted when I left my job in May 2018 to go to Bali. It was the total reset I craved. When I returned, I was able to launch Babes Who Brunch Club and finally embraced the idea that connecting people is one of my biggest passions.

I built Babes Who Brunch Club in the most grassroots way possible, by using the power of social media and word of mouth. Since our launch in November 2018, we’ve hosted 10 events in NYC and 2 in LA. I’ve also hosted two intimate masterminds in 2019. I’m planning a virtual one in the near future. While Babes Who Brunch Club started as something completely separate from my coaching services, it has unexpectedly attracted many ideal clients to my coaching program which I’m endlessly grateful for.

I feel so lucky to have created a career that allows me to explore my passions and to combine my creativity and experience with my love of travel, connection, and teaching. There’s nothing more rewarding to me than uplifting women and creating a container and ecosystem that allows us to support one another.

People often ask me, why I choose to work with women specifically. I simply believe in us so much. The world benefits when we love ourselves, our lives, and when we pursue purpose and meaning. Research shows that women are more likely to uplift and invest in their families and communities. In short, we deserve to live our lives, and when we do, society benefits tremendously.

Tell us more about your business. Can you give us more detail about this 90-day build ecosystem you’ve created? What makes your business different?

Women come to me when they know that they’re destined to live a life full of purpose and meaning, but they can’t achieve that unless they live and work on their terms. Usually, they’ve been dreaming of a career, but feel stuck and unable to move forward.

Imposter syndrome is a huge barrier along with feelings of overwhelm. It’s hard to build a business when you don’t even know where to start. That’s where coaching comes in. In 90-days we build a mindset for success, create an online presence, and start a marketing campaign.

The time I spend with each client is individualized and based on their particular needs. My program differs from many of the coaching programs out there and is for anyone who wants to launch a service-centered business quickly.

I think the real magic in my coaching services is the one-on-one experience and the accountability factor. My clients see success a lot quicker than I did when I started out. My goal is to be their shortcut! I’ve had a client land her first freelance PR client in the first 60 days of our time together. Another client completely filled her therapy practice in 90 days and made more in one week than she invested in coaching. Another client was selling a passive product and made nearly half the revenue she had made the year prior, in three months!

Babes Who Brunch Club has moved online for the time being! We’ve only hosted two online events so far, but Covid-19 has really motivated me to launch an online membership experience in the near future. I’ve known for some time that women from all over the country and world are craving community and networking experience, and now is the perfect time to create another way to bring us together.

My newest project is The I’m Possible Podcast where I interview people who are pursuing their dreams with the goal of inspiring people to follow their dreams even in the face of adversity.

What now? A woman has read this interview and recognizes herself and desire to take the next step. What would you tell her?

If you read this interview and feel excited about the prospect of launching your own service-centered business and want to talk about it, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I offer free 60-minute strategy calls. I always ask people, if not now, then when?

How amazing would it feel to get that amazing big idea you have out of your head and into the world, and in only three months? If living life on your own terms is a non-negotiable, don’t wait another month, six months, year, or six years. Your time is now.

Tell us about your challenges. How do you keep going when you feel defeated or hit a stumbling block?

Building my brand has taken years, a good amount of investment, and a lot of perseverance. While I never really considered giving up, there have been a ton of challenges. I don’t think the trials and tribulations of entrepreneurship are talked about enough and I don’t want to give anyone the impression that they’re doing something wrong if they feel defeated at times. It’s par for the course!

My suggestion is that you find something that you’re so obsessed with that nothing can get in your way. That thing, or as Simon Simek puts it, “your why” can be anything from time freedom to financial freedom, to solving the homelessness epidemic in the US. Whatever it is, there will be one hundred (or more) reasons not to go into business for yourself. But if you know in your heart that you won’t feel fulfilled doing anything else, then my suggestion is to go for it. Take however long you need. Don’t let friends, family, partners, or society rush you. There are no deadlines to your dreams.
