Victor grew up to be an independent individual, as that was taught to him by his parents and his teacher named Cipto Junaedy who taught him how to build a business empire without having to owe money. In 2017, Victor founded Baran Energy. As a young millennial, Victor is very concerned with the environmental conservation conditions in Indonesia and Indonesia’s energy sector in general. It is for this reason that he dreamed and committed himself to make the usage of renewable energies available for the masses in Indonesia, in order to reduce the usage of fossil energy that is becoming even rarer and also to reduce pollution.

Now, with Baran Energy, Victor with tens of millennials are creating a power storage system. This technology can be used to store energy that is generated from renewable energy, such as solar, wind, or hydroelectric energy. Because of this very advanced and revolutionary thinking, Victor is often named by friends and his business partners as the Millennial Entrepreneur Series and the Elon Musk of Indonesia.

What is your entrepreneur’s story? How did you come about building your business?

While I was15 years old, in secondary school, I had already started to sell fishes. Later on at 17, I created a cigarette factory with 3,000 employees, but that business went bankrupt after being swindled. I created a travel agency and in 6 months built an armada of 200 cars. This business is then later sold to a school friend after it has developed when I was a 19 y/o boy. When I was in my 20’s, I became a military partner to build 10,000 houses with a project value of 35 million US dollars. And at 25, I created a property company, working on building projects such as apartments, hotel resorts, and housing complexes, with the total sales value reaching 500 million USD under the banner of Anugerah Kasih Investama Group.

Later on, at age 35, I gradually created Baran Energy, a start-up company valued at 100 million USD, to accelerate the growth of renewable energy in Indonesia, which would enable a country with a population of 250 million people to receive free electricity in both day and night, for 15 years, with financing plans.

In building a company, I prioritize capitalization, partnership, and the usage of business relations.

What is your business model — how were you able to grow so fast?

The model business that I am using is a system of partnership, good financial management, capitalization, and orientation to customers. Fast growth is achieved, due to the partnership business models and good financial management.

Can you give me an overview of who you are, what is your educational or overall background? What are some of your achievements?

I was born from a simple family. Ever since I was a child, my parents have already taught me to be independent, honest, and hard-working. Those values that were taught by my parents are still planted within me until now. It is because of this that I became a person who lives a life filled with optimism and dreams. I do my best to share my optimism with others and to become the inspiration for them. Other than having a lot of ideas and creativity that are executed quickly, I am also skilled in negotiations.

I dropped out of high school, so I did not go to college.

As for achievements, I often receive awards as a young, successful entrepreneur, such as the Nusantara Platinum Award, and Indonesia Trusted of Quality Award.

What have you learned through your experiences as an entrepreneur that can be used by aspiring business individuals?

Be creative, be determined, take action, make relations, create trust, and always be a visionary.

What makes your business so unique and successful?

Always provide special offers in property and in the Baran Energy business. Providing special offers with various, convenient financing plans creates a new and unique experience so that people can own our products without having to go to financial institutions. Everyone can have our property and also enjoy free electricity by paying for 5 years and enjoying the next 15 years for free using Baran Energy. A good product, inexpensive, can be paid in long-term installments, and unique. Our company can now also grow quickly because of the support of our investors. As of now, the number of our investors continues to grow.

What have you learned through your journey as an entrepreneur?

I have obtained many lessons while running a business, just like other entrepreneurs of the world, such as Elon Musk and Steve Jobs. However, those experiences have made me to always be independent, creative, skilled in managing funds, and creating a lot of connections and relations. On the negative side, I have gone bankrupt, became a victim of fraud, and deceived by friends.

What skills and attributes make you as successful as you are?

Someone who has good negotiation skills and is good at making relations with many people.

Why is online business, marketing, etc important?

Because that is the lifestyle of consumers now, where everything is connected online. Companies have to respond and adapt to this change and invest in digital marketing.

Is there anything, in particular, you’d like me to add in the articles?

My life motto is, “God never gives you a dream that matches your budget. He’s not checking your bank account. He’s checking your willpower.”

In running a business, I am very careful in choosing partners and employees. I give my employees a chance to be as proactive as possible and produce brilliant ideas. I never restrict their thoughts so that they have to be similar to mine. On the contrary, I give them the freedom to work and be creative in their own respective fields. However, that freedom comes with a responsible form of freedom. I always appreciate the results of my employees. Because for me, the employees are the power I have to drive the company forward. If the employees feel pressured, then it is without a doubt that they cannot perform to their best.
