The skills shortage is a major challenge for UK businesses, as it lowers productivity and profits.

The British economy is still struggling to recover from the pandemic, according to the latest data. The economy is 0.5% smaller than it was before the pandemic, and experts say that the main reasons for this are the lingering effects of the pandemic and the tighter post-Brexit immigration rules.

The ongoing skills shortage is a major challenge for businesses, but it is also an opportunity for those who are proactive. Here are our top tips for businesses facing labor challenges in 2023.

UK industries with skills shortages

To begin, it is important to identify the industries in the UK that are most affected by the skills shortage. A recent study found that the country’s biggest shortfalls are in a variety of sectors, including:

Transport and logistics: This sector is facing a shortage of skilled drivers, warehouse workers, and customs agents.

Hospitality: This sector is facing a shortage of skilled chefs, waiters, and hotel staff.

Manufacturing and construction: These sectors are facing a shortage of skilled engineers, carpenters, and electricians.

Invest in your workforce for long-term success

Recruiting top talent is a time-sensitive process, as there is only a limited pool of qualified candidates available. A recruitment agency can help you find the right people quickly and efficiently.

Recruitment agencies have wider referral networks as a third party, allowing them to identify candidates with the necessary work experience. They also focus on different industries, so you can locate an agency that meets your specific requirements.

Recruitment agencies can help you find new talent with the core skills to help your company reach its goals.

Invest in your workforce to boost your business
Often, the skills you need are already present in your workforce, but they may not be fully utilized. By upskilling your employees, you can give them the skills they need to take on new challenges and responsibilities.

Upskilling your workforce can be a great way to improve your business and the skills of your employees. By following these tips, you can make the upskilling process a success.

Organizations with more resources may even pay for their employees to enroll in external training programs offered by universities or colleges. This personalized investment in your workforce can build loyalty and even provide a valuable public relations opportunity.

Utilise Apprenticeship to train and upskill your workforce
Apprenticeships can be a long-term solution to skills shortages. They can help employers reach a wider talent pool and offer prospective employees a strong, high-quality alternative to the traditional university degree.

A multi-pronged approach to recruitment that includes building relationships with educational institutions can help businesses find top talent at the source.

Boost your marketing reach and visibility
A strong marketing strategy can make your company more attractive to prospective employees. This is because it can help to increase brand awareness and generate interest in your company. You can partner with local educational institutions, promote your job openings on social media and in the local press, and track your results to improve your marketing strategy and attract future employees.

Bradley (Brad) Fauteux is an executive who has demonstrated a consistent commitment to environmentalism throughout his entire career. He has held multiple positions, such as Managing Director of Ontario Parks and the Ministry of Natural Resources. During his time with Ontario Parks, Fauteux was responsible for overseeing a large team of 2,500 employees and managing a substantial operating budget of $90 million, in addition to a capital portfolio valued at $1.5 billion. Currently, he serves as the Senior Director of P3 Management at EQUANS, a company that specializes in providing solutions and services to meet the energy, multi-technical, and digital needs of industries, cities, and buildings, with a particular focus on improving energy efficiency and performance. This current position aligns directly with Fauteux’s long-standing dedication to environmental matters.

Fauteux firmly believes in the responsibility of leaders to contribute to the preservation of our world. In his words, “I believe that everyone in a leadership position has the responsibility to ensure we are protecting nature and acting sustainably. Without it, little of what we do or achieve holds significance or meaning. After all, we have to ensure that we have a place where others following in our footsteps have the opportunity to achieve their own goals.”

Fauteux’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree earned in 1995 from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada. He also pursued further education, completing a Management Certificate from the American Management Association of International in 1999 as well as an Indigenous Studies Certificate from the University of Alberta in 2017.

In this capacity as Senior Director of P3 at EQUANS Services, he’s responsible for managing the strategic delivery operations of multiple P3 contracts in both Canada and the United States. His areas of oversight encompass transit, healthcare, transportation, and cultural infrastructure.

What does your day-to-day generally look like given your position?

Contract, Vendor, and Client Management are the activities that take up most of my day. Making sure we are delivering on our commitments and serving our clients in the best, most sustainable way we can.

What initially inspired you to get into the field you’re in?

Leadership has always been the thing that I’ve gravitated to normally and environmentalism and sustainability are things that mean a lot to me personally. So being able to lead and contribute in those important areas has been great.

What do you think makes a great leader?

I generally subscribe to servant leadership so listening is where everything starts. As a generalist, I believe strongly in putting the right people in the right places and then making sure you can support success, help them grow, and clear barriers for them. I also believe strongly that what gets measured, gets done so I am a big proponent of having accountability systems in place to track success.

What is the biggest misconception about your industry?

The biggest misconception is that environmentalism and sustainability are only for environmentalists and that simply is not true. Everything we build, operate, occupy, use, etc. can be better more sustainable, and less harmful to the environment around us. Keeping this in mind, ALL of us are responsible for this, not just the environmentalists.

What do you believe your future career is going to look like five years from now?

I imagine that I will be leading sustainably in whatever industry needs me.

Gianna Contillo Badot (aka GCB) is a Business Mentor, High-Performance Life Coach, Mindset Expert, and Multi-Passionate Entrepreneur. She grew her business while mentoring alongside successful entrepreneurs, consistently studying new skills, obtaining new coaching certifications, and most importantly, learning from experience.

Over the past 12+ years, she’s made every mistake in the book, but failure has been her greatest teacher. Doing everything wrong in business gave her unique insight into what to do right in terms of scaling an online business.

Today Gianna’s focus is on helping passion-driven entrepreneurs grow their dreams and goals into a profitable online business. With vast experience, Gianna mastered the art of teaching and helping coaches go from struggling small businesses to coaches with successful, passionate careers.

When you work with Gianna, you get results. Change happens. Your business (and life) shifts in a powerful way. You never question her desire to lift her clients up. She loves what she does, walks the walk, and shows up authentically in everything she does whether it’s a program she creates or a coaching session she facilitates. You’ll even see her enthusiasm through each post she writes.

What do you do, and what is your goal in business?

I’m a business mentor, high-performance life coach, mindset expert, and multi-passionate entrepreneur. My passion is empowering women to follow their passion. Today, I help entrepreneurs and driven-goal getters turn their passion into a profitable online business. I do this with mindset mapping and strategic marketing funnels.

How did you end up doing business coaching? What was the path that led you there?

Entrepreneurship has always been in my blood. I grew up in my father’s business and always wanted to be the CEO of my own company. I started my coaching career when I was 18 years old as a health coach, and my first company was built right out of my parent’s home office. The rest is history, my coaching and niche has evolved over time, but I’ve been coaching ever since that day.

My brand has evolved as I have evolved. As an individual, I traveled all over the world to countries like India, Cambodia, Thailand, and Tibet while studying yoga, meditation, eastern spirituality, and Buddhist psychology. I then pivoted away from basic health coaching and started working on the mindset with my clients as a performance coach. This was around the time I started marketing my business online.

So how did I become a business mentor? Well, marketing online, I had no idea what I was doing. So, I hired a business coach. At the time, I was really struggling with sales. She approached me with an opportunity to join her team as a Sales Rep as an apprentice. The deal was, I would take all her sales calls and take part in in-depth sales training along the way. This wasn’t my plan of course, but she allowed me to run my business at the same time. It felt right, so I went for it! This role as a Sales Rep eventually turned into a role as a Sales Coach and Chief Marketing Officer of her multiple 6-figure companies.

In the process, I fell in love with empowering women. I wanted to help them start and build businesses. Eventually, I started my own business coaching company. That’s how I pivoted into business coaching and the work I do today.

Tell us more about your brand. How does your business work? And how do you keep going when you’re challenged?

My brand is focused on promoting the Passionate Boss Movement through my coaching programs, 1:1 consulting, podcast, and social media platforms. What does it mean to be a passionate boss?

During my 10+ years of entrepreneurship, I’ve been knocked down SO many times along the way. The term first came to me during one of the lowest moments in my business. It was one of the hardest falls I’ve ever had to get up from. It was in this struggle that I realized what it really took to make it as an entrepreneur. Just to give a little background at this point…

I’d spent all my money and was pretty much broke. All I had was a dream and the strength to keep moving forward.

At that moment I realized you need 2 things to make it as an entrepreneur: LOVE of your work & STRENGTH to keep going. By the way, both are words I had tattooed on each of my middle fingers.

And so, the term passionate boss is an entrepreneur or goal-getter who is living their life & running a business as their core self (their higher/authentic self). She’s passionate and leads from her heart, but is also FIERCE, strong, powerful, and most importantly…RESILIENT. She gets back up, figures things out, and is the ultimate boss in business and in life.

That’s the energy I channeled to get where I am today. And if I’m being honest, without this mindset I don’t think I’d be here talking to you right now because let’s be real: Entrepreneurship is a rollercoaster ride. The highs and lows of what it takes to stay the course and get to your goals break a lot of people before they even get close to the finish line.

Basically, the term is meant to empower the shit out of you and remind you of your BIG why in your heart. It also reminds you of the mental and emotional strength you need to preserve to keep going.

Your heart sets you off and running, but your resilience will actually determine if you make it or not. That’s why I started this podcast. It’s about helping you fuel your passion, with the strength you need, to get exactly where you want to go and beyond.

As for my clients, I work with them in my group business coaching program: The Online Passion Accelerator and via 1:1 customized high-level coaching + consulting.

What do you hope people take away from this? Do you have a way for people to get started easily?

My mission in life is to inspire women to chase their fears and live their passion. If you’re serious about building your dream business, a business you are passionate about but also one that’s profitable, I can help.

I just released a new free business-building workshop that you’re going to absolutely love. We cover the exact 5-step system that I teach my clients inside my signature program: The Online Passion Accelerator.

It’s an action-based system to help you scale your business to 6-figures (without a big audience or email list). When you sign up, you’ll get a workbook in your email inbox. It goes along with the training. You can work on each of the exercises, so you’re actually taking action instead of just taking in new information.

This workshop is ~60 mins so, yes, there is a time investment, but it’s a time investment in your business. That’s time well spent! You can sign up here: https://www.passionateboss.com/masterclass

If you’re ready to take action today on your business goals, and you want to know how we can work together, apply for a business assessment call here: https://www.passionateboss.com/applynow

What are the current challenges in your business, and how do you handle them?

Current challenges are balancing all the ideas I have for my business. I struggle with focusing on one project at a time. There are so many creative projects I have planned in my head. I’ve had to get really good at structuring timelines for when these projects can come into fruition.

How did you get started financially?

In the beginning, I used credit to fund my ads.

Where do you see the future of your brand going? What’s the next level for you? And how far do you want to take it?

I am focused on 4 projects for the long-term evolution of my brand:

Being of the highest possible service to my current and future clients.

Launching my certification program for coaches in 2021 (A transformation & mindset mastery certification program. It’s for coaches who want to up-level their coaching skills and guide their clients through the process of overcoming mindset blocks that prevent them from achieving their goals). This is all still being ironed out and is in the works. You can follow me on social media to get updates on this.

Growing The Passionate Boss Podcast

Publishing my book about chasing your fears and creating a life beyond your wildest dreams!

Do you have a message for those who are chasing their entrepreneurship dreams and aren’t sure how to reach them?

Never settle. This is your life. It’s your right to go after your goals, dreams, and passions, but don’t be fooled by what you see on your newsfeed. Following your passion and creating a life beyond your wildest dreams is a lot harder than most entrepreneurs portray it on social media.

It’s not all lattes and laptops on the beach, it’s a grind. But it’s a grind that is 100% worth it if you’re going after something which you’re truly passionate about. Your success as an entrepreneur depends on your ability to get up every day and continue chasing your fears. Most importantly, focus on your mindset just as much as you focus on crafting your marketing strategy.

Your marketing strategy can’t work if you have limiting beliefs holding you back or you don’t believe in your own success. Mindset is the foundation of it all, never forget that. Be ready to fail forward and build the strength to get back up every time you fall. Don’t expect to be an overnight success and be ready to be in this for the long-haul. If you stay the course, you’ll get exactly where you want to go and beyond.

Remember to stay in your own zone of genius, focus on yourself, and always be authentic, aka: never try to be like anyone else in your industry. Your superpower as an entrepreneur is your ability to be authentic and true to yourself.

Successful Instagram Influencer and Coach Marilyne Nix on Building Lucrative Luxury Business Brand Luxelife9

Marilyn Nix is a 6-figure entrepreneur, Social Media and Luxury Lifestyle influencer, and coach on Instagram with over 700k followers. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣What is your entrepreneurial story? How did you come about building your business?⁣⁣

⁣⁣I was always around my parent’s friends, older business owners who lived a very posh and jet-setting life. Now, I was raised spoiled, we can’t lie about that but I wasn’t born into a jet setting lifestyle however, I knew from being around it and getting used to it, dating men who gave it to me, I would make it my own life without any man’s help and I finally achieved it. I then decided it’s time to show other women how to live the same life as an influencer and coach.⁣⁣

⁣⁣What is your business model — how were you able to grow so fast? ⁣⁣

⁣⁣I empower and coach individuals and companies on how to grow their Instagram and make money by collaborating with brands. But that’s not limited to only coaching you how to grow your Instagram. I also promote how capable women can be being her own boss and while staying fab in slaying every goal in their lives by sharing beauty tips that I learned being in the beauty industry. Helping them build their own business and helping women get what they want and be the best they can be. To simply put it, I help women and businesses grow.⁣⁣

⁣⁣Can you give me an overview of who you are, what is your educational or overall background?⁣⁣

I have been in the fashion and beauty industry since I was a teenager. I went to the Art Institute of Miami for both fashion, marketing, and a business degree, went UALR for business and marketing, and attended Wade College in Texas for both fashion and marketing and worked with the biggest names in the business internationally. Once social media started, I jumped on the bandwagon ahead of time and learned every trick and trade out there and have made myself a brand name, and now, in the last 5 years, I have been making others a name in the social media world and making it their career.⁣⁣

⁣⁣What are some of your achievements? ⁣⁣

⁣⁣I was number one in Entrepreneurship in the country in high school and college for business. I even received awards from President Clinton, several Mayors, and Governors for my acts of volunteering and charity work, receiving different honors from multiple designers for the highest ratings of my work. For me, awards are only bonuses, the real achievement is the feeling of satisfaction that I feel whenever I successfully achieve my goals.⁣⁣

⁣⁣What have you learned through your experiences as an entrepreneur that can be used by aspiring business individuals?⁣⁣

⁣⁣Even with the success that I now have, my experiences as an entrepreneur was never that smooth. There are ups and downs and she even at some point doubted her decisions. But as I go through my journey as an entrepreneur, I’ve kept the passion for every goal that I have, stayed diligent, and kept a positive perspective. I learned that it is important to challenge yourself and face your fears in every step that you take rather than doubting your decisions, make it as a motivation and you will surely learn a lot from it, especially if you are an aspiring business individual.⁣⁣

⁣⁣What makes your business so unique and successful?⁣⁣

⁣⁣Starting with the great team that I hired for character and values that fits my company tells her apart from others. A very dedicated team with the same mindset as her and values that align perfectly with my company. With this, it makes running my business smoothly. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣The years of experience being around people and working for the biggest names in the fashion and beauty industry internationally, and with the knowledge I have, you know that I really know this business well. My passion and sincerity to share this experience and knowledge to others gained trust from a lot of people which leads me to become successful as a coach and influencer.⁣⁣

⁣⁣What have you learned through your journey as an entrepreneur? ⁣⁣

⁣⁣Being around business-minded people at a very young age helped me on my journeys as an entrepreneur, note-the fastest way to change yourself is to hang out with people who are already the way you want to be. I learned that building a great team is a very important key to a successful business. So I hire for character and values with a mindset that I can always train someone on skills, but can’t make someone’s values fit my company. And one of the most important things that I learned and had kept me in track in achieving success is by knowing exactly what my goal is. I set my goals and remind myself of them each day. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣What skills and attributes make you as successful as you are? ⁣⁣

⁣⁣“Nobody starts as master of something they are good at,” I always say. It was my sincerity, dedication, passion, and willingness to learn new things without the fear of failing that made me successful in the career that I have chosen. I believe that everyone can do it if they put their heart and mind to it, believing in themselves and never be afraid to fail.⁣⁣

⁣⁣Why is online business, marketing, etc important? ⁣⁣

⁣⁣Now that most people around the world spend most of their time online, it has now become a great way to market your brand. I decided to jump on the bandwagon ahead of time when social media very first started and learned everything that I needed to learn about it and it made me successful in the industry.⁣⁣

⁣⁣For me, social media is an essential piece of business marketing strategy and a very effective one since social media platforms help you connect with your customers more easily, increase awareness about your brand, and boost your leads and sales. With more than three billion people around the world using social media every month, it’s no passing trend. It has the power to increase customer loyalty and helps you build stronger customer relationships no matter what kind of business you have.

Stephanie Hill-Manuel is an operations-based business coach who specializes in finance, project management, teams and hiring, customer service, and more. She is dedicated to helping businesses grow sustainably and profitably.

When she isn’t helping businesses grow, she spends time with her husband and daughter in their Massachusetts home. They enjoy their four cats and their dog, who have become a big part of their lives. Last winter, Stephanie and her family enjoyed the perks of remote work by spending three months in Florida, soaking up the sunshine.

Stephanie’s Business Background

Stephanie began her professional career at a local nonprofit museum. At the museum, she did a little bit of everything, including finance and human resources. She spent several years at the museum before moving on to the big corporate world.

She worked at some Fortune 500 companies. Her skills in finance and project management were an asset to these companies. Through these positions, Stephanie gained a background in corporate finance, project management, and human resources.

Her last corporate position was as the Senior Project Manager of Manufacturing at a company that helps build battleships for the U.S. Navy. After a decade climbing the corporate ladder, Stephanie spent a few years as a consultant for million-dollar businesses before stepping into the coaching space.

STEPHANIE HILL-MANUEL

Pivoting into the Coaching Space

The corporate upper management lifestyle wasn’t what Stephanie wanted for herself. Although the positions and pay were great, these jobs required a lot of travel, no time off, and significant burnout.

From this sense of burnout, Stephanie made the leap into entrepreneurship. She is a Certified Director of Operations (which is like a COO, but for businesses with under $5 million in annual sales) and working part-time in different companies for over a year.

Stephanie offers her services as an expert small business growth coach. Through her coaching and training, small business owners are equipped with the tools they need to grow their businesses sustainably and profitably.

What Business Owners Learn from Stephanie

Stephanie uses her years of experience in the corporate world to help small business owners make the right decisions for their businesses. Through structured classes and one-on-one mentoring sessions, Stephanie’s students learn a variety of things:

How to hire and train excellent remote teams: She teaches them how to make sure teams run smoothly and work independently without micromanaging.

How to create a business hub: This hub contains all the information about a business, from brand identity to contractor information. This is especially vital for solopreneurs who need to get clutter off their desks and information out of their heads. A business hub provides support staff with all the information they need to complete their work without constantly interrupting the CEO.

How to run business finances: Business owners learn how to clean up their money tracking and create metrics used to evaluate historical information and plan for the future. This allows the entrepreneur to better understand how their current efforts are affecting the business’ growth.

How to properly manage projects: She teaches business owners how to avoid scope creep, provide top-notch customer service to clients, and keep projects running smoothly. Business owners will learn how to meet deadlines and appointments without going over budget again.

Stephanie’s “Scale Now!” Program

Stephanie uses her Scale Now! Program to help entrepreneurs push their businesses beyond 6-figure and 7-figure income ceilings and learn how to make more money while working less than before. Although entrepreneurship requires juggling many tasks, it doesn’t have to require around-the-clock work for the CEO.

Business owners learn how to create this peace in their lives by learning to manage a strong support time. Leading successful teams is a major part of business success, so Stephanie helps business owners become the CEO they’re meant to be.

Most importantly, entrepreneurs learn how to best leverage their time. They learn how to avoid burnout while growing a financially successful business. Instead of working harder, they learn how to change their focus and make more progress in less time.

Many people start businesses because they have an idea or a product they’re really passionate about. Stephanie helps them pair that passion with the financial and organizational know-how they need to grow a successful and sustainable business.

Eric Dunavant, the owner of Paradiem, is giving away his guide, “6 Principles of Transformation” to help transform the financial future of those who adopt the principles within the guide. It contains straightforward principles that families can easily adapt right away to change their financial behaviors and mindset.

Eric Dunavant’s business, Paradiem, is a financial advising company centered on helping families be more intentional about their finances. Dunavant is a Qualified Kingdom Advisor™, Certified Financial Planner™, and Financial Planning Association affiliate who has helped hundreds of families and businesses find holistic, simple strategies for saving money on taxes in order to be able to give back to causes they value and set up systems for multigenerational success.

Because he experienced a family tragedy in his youth that ultimately caused the loss of his father’s business, bankruptcy, and a rift between family members, Eric Dunavant deeply understands the importance of having a sound financial strategy that leads to the best overall outcomes for an entire family. To him, financial success does not stop at how many dollars one has in the bank, but at a family’s overall happiness.

In addition to his certifications and the Safe Harbor’s Real Man of St. Tammany Parish title, Dunavant has also twice received the New Orleans City Business Money Maker award and the New Orleans Area Five Star Professional Wealth Manager award. He is also an accomplished writer, having received high praise for his book, What If We’ve Been Doing It All Wrong? which explores the way one’s worldview can disrupt financial behaviors. Dunavant’s ideas have been featured in several media outlets and national publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Street and Family Wealth Report, and Dow Jones Daily Finance.

In his personal life, Eric Dunavant is a proud husband and father of three children. The entire Dunavant family has a passion for impacting lives by teaching the power of intentional generosity. To accomplish this, Mr. and Mrs. Dunavant founded To All With Love—a faith-based nonprofit focused on sharing the joy of service with others and impacting communities throughout U.S. neighborhoods and Central American villages.

“In everything I do, I ask the question: ‘What if everyone was more focused on their return on intention and the impact they were making on their relationships?’” he said. “It would completely transform families, advisers, and the industry as a whole. Having seen the impact this approach to finance can have on families, businesses, and communities, I feel strongly that the financial advising industry is long overdue for a transformation that turns the focus back towards intention and values. And based on our experience, families, and businesses who take the time to focus on the long-term outcome of their intentions tend to experience a higher return on investment as well.”

Paradiem

Looking forward, Eric Dunavant has a vision to completely transform the financial industry.

“Right now, the financial industry ship is sailing in a very specific direction,” he said. “It’s designed to put a ton of money into certain hands, and those hands aren’t interested in change for obvious reasons—so turning the tide won’t be easy. However, I truly believe that every family and business we can impact will then have its impact—that the ripple effect of this change will last for generations. I doubt my dream will be completed in my lifetime, but what if I equip the next generation with the right skills and thought processes, and they completely transform an industry? To me, it’s worth pursuing whether I’m alive to see that vision come to fruition or not.”

To learn more about Paradiem and Eric Dunavant and receive his free guide today, email eric@paradiem.org and put “Principles” in the subject line or visit www.paradiem.org.

After spending several years in the corporate retail and fashion industries, Kalish Nesbitt realized that she could use her strengths in a much bigger way. She left her corporate dream in 2017 and launched The POSE Box, a subscription e-commerce company. For 3 years she spent her time growing and nurturing The POSE community and absolutely loved the strategy that went into sourcing the products, marketing the box, and managing all the moving parts. She explained that managing the systems and processes and bringing everything together was her FAVORITE part of running the business. When 2020 (and all it has entailed) happened, Kalish knew it was time to move into her true passion for systems and business management. She is now a certified Director of Operations and Project Manager, as well as a business coach, and is ready to bring all of her experience from the corporate world and entrepreneurship to businesses. Kalish says that growing and scaling takes strategy, systems, and data, which are all of her favorite things. Then, she wraps them up in a confidence-building, a mindset focused package!

Tell us about who you are and what you do.

As a Certified Director of Operations, Kalish partners with online businesses to alleviate overwhelm by providing strategic planning, operations, and launch project management. She is basically her clients’ right-hand who helps to get them out of the day-to-day of their business, in their zone of genius, and holds them accountable to execute their vision. She serves both product-based and service-oriented businesses that want to make an impact online.

Tell us how you created this brand and what was the sole idea behind it.

In the last 6 years, Kalish has learned the importance of self-preservation and the ability to connect with and understand herself enough to continuously listen to that inner voice that guides us all towards our life’s purpose.

Kalish believes that most people start businesses in order to take back the power of the trajectory of their success, solve problems for the greater good of their clients or customers, and hopefully have the ability to get back their time and freedom. When she became an entrepreneur, she initially lost all control of those things without the structure of a corporate job. She learned to be responsible for her own success which led her to work countless hours of the day and night. She missed out on sharing time with her family and friends. Additionally, her mental and physical health took their fair share of neglect, as well. But, she cherishes the journey and has since gained much of her strength and confidence that is required for true growth.

As she closed the doors to her firstborn business (read more about the POSE Box) at the peak of the pandemic of 2020 with sadness, she reflected and identified many wins and losses. Truth be told, owning this company was an expensive lesson. But, it pushed her to go outside of her comfort zone and learn essential skills. This has allowed her to relate to her clients on a deeper level with her strategic planning and operations management company. I truly understand the array of emotions one can experience as a business owner and can now help them stay encouraged and focused on their vision.

In her early days of entrepreneurship, she spent countless hours consuming YouTube content, DIYing everything in her startup, and at one point even became a website developer (in her mind, lol). She eventually felt the need to organize all of this knowledge and create a valued service-based business. In her pursuit, she came across a podcast and was introduced to Natalie Gingrich, Business Operations Guru and founder of The Ops Authority. Natalie had just opened applications for her signature program, the Director of Operations certification. It was the mentorship and training Kalish needed in order to step into the role she knew she deserved.

Go in detail and tell us about how your brand works. You may keep this from the audience’s perspective.

For the business owner who is ready to scale! Kalish is your key to unlocking:

– Organization

– Systems + Processes for Scale

– Real-time Data with Real-time Recommendations

– Strategic Steps Towards Growth

As your next Director of Ops or Project Manager, Kalish will help you streamline your current processes, give you back your time and energy, and create a strategic plan for your business growth. Even in a crowded market, she will help you find strength in your story and help strengthen your business foundation so that you can scale with ease. Kalish is here to help you improve your systems and processes and give you usable data to make the big decisions in your business. Plus, she’s the perfect coach to help you strategically move past any roadblocks and stay focused on the steps to take to move forward. Think of her as your secret weapon in strategy, systems, and mindset with a side of being your personal cheerleader. Your success is everything to Kalish! No matter what success means to you, she is the one to help you achieve it.

What is your giveaway idea through this interview? Highlight something that may interest the readers on a one to one basis.

CEO Planning Session – $2500

Words like “systems”, “audits”, “workflows”, “processes” and “checklists” can overwhelm a CEO who is a true visionary. But, the reason behind planning CEO time to check in with your business is to access what is working and what areas need improvement. Doing so will save you a lot of time, frustration and make you more money in the long run. That’s the “official” reason but the real reason is that she wants to help you scale your business and automate the processes that will truly allow you to enjoy your life, and reap the benefits of ”being your own boss”

That’s why she created the CEO Planning Session in the first place.

Kalish says “with the new year upon us, you can go from all-over-the-place to alignment in just 2 hours.

In our work together, we’ll:

✔ 4-hour VIP Day session

✔ Craft a 1-year long strategic plan for your product or service-based business.

✔ Utilize a licensed planning strategy Strategic Mapping Model ™ – which is incredible for you because it’s tried and true, plus it builds on the foundation of your mission, vision, and values.

✔ Identify and prioritize strategic goals – we’ll take a deep dive into auditing and refining 7 key areas of your business.

✔ Establish business foundations and professional priorities – This is where that alignment work comes in!

✔ Set key performance metrics – How else can you track success without understanding the data specific to your business goals?”

Explain the challenges you went through while you were working on brand creation. What are the challenges you go through on an everyday basis?

The road, or rollercoaster, has been full of ups and downs. In year 3, Kalish is finally experiencing a dose of sustainability. The main struggle she’s dealt with was ambiguity. Social media and technology have been a gateway for distraction. Comparison crept in and the thoughts of just wanting to play it safe and “get a real job” often showed up. She would sometimes get pulled away from her passion or the reason why she started in the first place.

As she’s transitioned into consulting full time this year, she’s building a firm foundation of the impact she will offer to the world. Kalish is grateful for the experience and she feels prepared for what is to come, especially as we advance to the “new normal.”

It is so important for us, not only as business owners but human beings, to make space in our lives to truly experience life. Our minds become so obsessed with grinding to reach our goals and making a lot of money that we may fall out of balance, losing our true selves. Business is just a small part of our lives. If we hone into all our greatness, money comes with ease when you are in full authenticity of yourself. When we get frazzled or unsure of which step to take, she believes that with stillness brings clarity. We must slow down and learn to congratulate ourselves for every step we take, and then find ways to be fully present and plant seeds for a fruitful future. Kalish feels that 2020 has forced many of us to do just this.

Kalish also plans to launch a podcast in the near future to help spread the message to be proactively present in business and in life. Stay tuned!

How do you manage your finances through the services you offer? Any fundings etc received?

No – bootstrapped!

Tell us your future vision about the brand. How far do you want to take it? What is your dream about taking it to the next level?

KMN Consulting partners with online businesses to alleviate overwhelm by providing strategic planning, management of their processes and projects, and increase their visibility through digital marketing. KMN Consulting is the bridge between the front end (marketing: branding) and back office (ops: supply chain) of its client’s businesses. KMN Consulting offers 1:1 business coaching and strategy sessions to their clients who aspire to launch their next big vision so that they can create wealth and live a life that they are proud of.

Kalish’s long-term goal of her Podcast is to incorporate health, wellness, mindset, and spirituality into entrepreneurship.

What message would you like to give to anybody who has a plan of creating something of their own and making a living through it?

“Focus on the goal, work in the detail”

Kalish knows that it can get really overwhelming to start your own business. Fear and self-doubt are debilitating and inevitable but on the other side of that is a version of yourself that you must keep working towards every day while still appreciating the journey. Always ask for help, even if it’s scary. When she had no clue how to solve a problem she faced in entrepreneurship, she boldly reached out to women in business who had reached great success for advice and they freely gave it. There is power in the community! Kalish says to join a mastermind group, or connect with people who are doing the same things that you are so that you won’t have to feel alone or lost. If you do have the investment, hire a business coach who can teach you the ropes in your own way or outsource a specialist like a virtual assistant who handles tasks that take away from your highest operating energy.

Laura is a Mindset Coach + Business Strategist who works with online Coaches to launch, grow, and scale their business. Using her signature framework of Mindset, Marketing, and Money Mastery, Laura works with coaches ranging from start-up through to multiple six-figure turnovers as well as with existing business owners pivoting their business to include or transition to coaching.

Laura is a certified coach as well as an accountant and before operating her own business, worked in a top-tier management consulting firm so brings a unique blend of coaching alongside a 10-year career in business advisory, strategic business development, and performance improvement. As a mother of two children 5 and under, Laura has created a 6 figure business in 18 months working an average of 25 hours a week.

Laura believes that success in business does not have to come at the cost of other important aspects of life which is so often showcased in the entrepreneurial world. She believes that business is about not just business but the life it makes possible. Having grown her business consistently and on limited time she has direct experience as a mum of 2 young kids growing a thriving online service-based business.

Tell us about who you are and what you do.

I’m a Mindset Coach + Business Strategist, the CEO of my 6 figure business as well as a mother to two kids. I work with female coaches who have a passion for helping people and don’t necessarily feel confident about the business and online side of starting or growing a business.

I see myself as someone who supports my clients go from the person in the business – that is the coach, the personal trainer, the Pilates instructor – to becoming a confident CEO. This is done through a blend of mentoring, mindset coaching, and advisory and support with business strategy.

What was the vision behind starting this business?

After I had my daughter I knew I wanted to continue working and make an impact in the world, however, I realized the corporate environment I’d worked the previous 10 years in no longer suited me. I wanted flexibility and if I’m honest, the work just didn’t feel like it was having a direct impact on people’s lives.

I had a decade of business experience, insight, knowledge, and advisory skills coupled with a love for personal development so the idea was born to bring that expertise to smaller business owners – women like me who wanted more impact, more time, and flexibility without sacrificing on the income – to grow their business. I had a vision of a ripple effect, more money in the hands of women, and the multiplier effect this has in communities, families, and small businesses as well as the effect of more women running successful businesses as coaches. I fundamentally believe that more people out in the world improving their lives and working with coaches and kicking goals in their health, finances, mental health, their businesses has such a compounding effect and leaves the world a better place.

What makes you unique in this industry?

As a mum of two kids 5 and under, I’ve been able to create a 6 figure business in 18 months working an average of 25 hours a week… I attract a lot of mums as clients as well as women who are limited on time and want to grow their business.

I get what it’s like to grow a business while having a full life and limited hours. When people come to me, they’re often overwhelmed, time-poor, and unclear on their strategy, time management, and their productivity. Often without knowing it too, they have mindset blocks around success, their identity, money, and becoming the owner of a thriving business. They want to find the blend between growing a business, the responsibilities of life all the while shifting who they see themselves as to become the CEO that matches the vision they hold for their business. What sets me apart? I’ve had the same or similar struggles. There was no overnight success or a single thing that exploded my business, it was proven strategy, consistent action, and working it at and 19 months later I have a business that has more than replaced my full-time salary as a Corporate Accountant.

Explain the challenges you went through while you were growing your business. What are the challenges you go through on an everyday basis?

The challenges I faced in the early days of growing my business were a lot to do with time and balancing the vision I had for my business with the day to day of young children. For me as well, there was such a big mindset component. When you’re in that startup phase there is no evidence to show you that the vision you have is possible or even whether the steps you’re taking day to day are working. One of the biggest pieces of work for me was consistently working on my belief and mindset to ensure I wasn’t making decisions in my business from fear or self-doubt but rather strategically and intentionally and focused on long term sustainable business.

Now the everyday challenges in the business are different than they were in that early stage and one of the most helpful things I’ve come to realize is that business is always presenting new problems. Growth means new challenges to face and problem-solving is just part of being in business. These new challenges or problems though are a reminder that business is growing. If you’re not solving new problems you or the business are likely stagnating.

One of the challenges I’m currently working through as a service provider operating a fully booked business is the demand the business has on me and the tension this can cause when you wear multiple hats in your business. As a team, we are currently focusing on things like standard processes and automation so that not only can I work with my clients and give them an exceptional experience but also have the time and whitespace to put that CEO hat on and drive the vision for my company. One of the challenges I’ve been working through in the second half of 2020 is carving out that time to think strategically and ensure the business is adapting and innovating.

Tell us your future vision about the brand. How far do you want to take it? What is your dream about taking it to the next level?

2021 has some serious growth plans in place! We are currently ensuring the current operations of the business are solid so that we can bring in new offers and ways of working with clients in the next 12 months. I can’t say too much just yet but the aim is to be able to support female service-based business owners grow their businesses in new ways. Maintaining the excellence in which I work with my clients while allowing the impact to amplifying. After the year that was 2020, so many of us are craving a deeper connection. The power of being in containers with other people in the same stage of business as you (which often we don’t have in our day to day lives) where they’re lifting, inspiring, and witnessing each other is incredible. I am excited to bring some new ways of creating that ripple effect of impact and income into the business.

I see myself as an everyday, ordinary woman with two young children and a passion for business. I want to be an example of what is possible. I’m on a mission to showcase that it’s possible to run a thriving business, do impactful work and make a difference in the lives of others without having to compromise on the income or the life you want, so my vision is to grow the business and to continue to be an example of that to the women in my community.

What message would you like to give to anybody who has a plan of creating something of their own and making a living through it?

You can do it! Growing my own business and my work with my clients the biggest thing that I continually see gets in the way is self-doubt and questioning of whether we can do it. So often I see how this pulls us away from the consistent daily actions we need to take. Decide you are the kind of person who runs a thriving business and take action like it, from there you won’t look back!

Rachael Bodie spent years working as a Fortune 500 leadership consultant. The valuable knowledge and experience helped grow her expertise in the field, but something was missing. While she found success in her career, she was left feeling unfulfilled.

It was when she finally broke free and lifted her side-hustle into a full-blown, successful business that she knew she’d found her calling. Today, she’s living her best life and doing what she loves. This smart, savvy business coach has shared stages with big names such as Rachel Hollis and John C. Maxwell and is well-known within the industry because she took her knowledge, combined with strategic steps, and built the career she’d always dreamed about.

As a mentor and business coach, Rachael helps her clients explode their potential and grow their businesses. In teaching them how to break through the barriers of limiting self-beliefs holding them back, using a well-designed 3-step process, and a proven track record, she’s made a lasting impact on businesses all around her.

With the right system in place, entrepreneurs can grow a business without feeling burned out. They don’t have to rely on non-stop marketing ads—and can find balance between work and play. She gives her clients the gift of learning how to run a thriving business in a new way—a smarter way. This knowledge frees them up to do the things they enjoy most, because their business is reaping the rewards of a well-oiled system.

Rachael Bodie knows how to help her coaching clients finally move forward. She understands the important steps needed because she’s been there. She’s grown a business from the ground up, learned important time management skills, and managed the systems that catapulted her own business to higher levels of success.

With authentic leadership, she gives her clients the advantage they need to go further. With a winning mindset, perfected strategies, and a decade of experience, her business coaching clients are breaking through and seeing results they never dreamed possible.

Her passion is in working with other women entrepreneurs and showing them not only what’s possible, but how to get there. Juggling multiple responsibilities can be frustrating and difficult for many women, especially when they have children at home.
Aaron Wilson is a serial entrepreneur, business consultant & author, who has blazed a trail in an array of industries from the tech space to the realm of business coaching. Wilson has closed millions of dollars in sales, raised millions for clients in the technology sector, built the infrastructure for billion-dollar fortune 500 companies, and has been highlighted as one of the top 20 recruiters in the world.

What is your entrepreneurial story? How did you come about building your business?

It was no easy feat but after avoiding very stringent non-compete agreements and fearful threats from former employers, my former colleague and I built one of the fastest-growing & profitable recruiting firms in New York City. We left the cushion that high base salaries and robust benefits packages offered, in order to drive a paradigm shift in the way the recruiting industry was being perceived – we wanted to make a real impact. We took a chance on ourselves and began working from a two-person WeWork office in midtown. Competitors and peers in the industry were shocked by our exponential growth. All in all, America is the land of circumvention. Where there is a will, there is a way.

What is your business model — how were you able to grow so fast?

We have a multi-stream revenue model. This model spans across content marketing (which requires minimal maintenance and no human capital), executive & business coaching, and also billable hours. What enabled Wilson Talent Solutions to grow so quickly is the key differentiating factor – a personal touch. While most entrepreneurs are very transactional, we are a relationship-driven business (as a firm) and also on a micro level when connecting with clients one-on-one. Clients do not want to feel like one of many and quite frankly, while it may seem pretty simple, our competitors have not cracked that code yet.

Can you give me an overview of who you are, what is your educational or overall background? What are some of your achievements?

I am a classically trained musician and entrepreneur. I received my bachelor’s degree in business from Binghamton University’s School of Management, which is the top-ranked public business school in New York State. I have been featured in Chris LaVoie’s, Central-London based “Art of Recruiting” documentary, where I was highlighted as one of the top 20 strategic thought leaders in recruitment worldwide. Additionally, alongside a former colleague, I built a recruiting firm to a headcount of 20+ recruiters and 8-digit revenue in less than 24 months.

What have you learned through your experiences as an entrepreneur that can be used by aspiring business individuals?

There are an array of things that I have learned through my experiences as an entrepreneur that can be used by aspiring business individuals, however, one of the most important is to be mindful of who you align yourself with. Choosing prospective business partners should be a daunting task but for some, it is quite simple and not taken as seriously as it should be. When aligning one’s self with a business partner, there is a very stringent criterion that should be met or adhered to. It’s of paramount importance that you know as much information as possible about a potential partner in order to avoid litigation, avoid uncertainty, and also to ensure your time (which is your most valuable currency) is not being wasted on/with the wrong people. The aforementioned can be detrimental and set you back 1 year or more (on your entrepreneurial journey). Furthermore, it has to be the “right” fit. Chemistry and cultural fit are very important. Be sure to partner with someone who shares similar beliefs, ideals, and notions as it pertains to work. While finding someone who does not share similar beliefs can be seen as “desired equilibrium”, it can also be a disaster due to discourse arising from not seeing eye-to-eye.

What makes your business so unique and successful?

What do most consulting firms lack? They lack access to top tier talent across an array of functional areas. I have made it my mission to identify top professionals who have strong expertise in marketing, finance, investments, sales, and accounting to head up all of the aforementioned practice areas. As they say, “the proof is in the pudding”. These professionals were top performers at their previous firms and are highly respected in their niche industries. From individuals with CPA and CFA designations to individuals who have built processes that were key in initial public offerings (IPOs), Wilson Talent Solutions has industry leaders who have made substantial impacts in their respective industries. We champion the notion of being a consultancy that acts as a total solutions provider.

What have you learned through your journey as an entrepreneur?

I have learned so many things on my entrepreneurial journey but what truly stands out is the importance of remaining “centered”. To me, the idea of being “centered” revolves around the notion that you are in touch with yourself on a spiritual level. There is such a sharp contrast between executives who are “centered” and those who are not. Whether you are religious, you are spiritual, you pray to the universe or you focus on intense meditation, being “centered” is vital when channeling energy into any endeavor. Good energy and positivity beget good energy and positivity, which consequently yield positive results. It’s imperative that you keep a clear head and a settled spirit when making crucial decisions. Cloudy minds do not give birth to new ideas nor do they have the ability to exercise sound judgment.

What skills and attributes make you as successful as you are?

One of the most important skills and attributes that has assisted me in accomplishing my goals would definitely be my ability to remain organized. The organization is key in business. As an entrepreneur or a creator, your mind is perpetually running – thinking about new ideas and new ways to do things. Nevertheless, it’s so important that you take the time to write things down. When I have an idea and I am determined to bring it to fruition, I write it down with corresponding action items and deadline dates. After writing this list of action items with deadline dates, everything is then calendarized accordingly and the calendar sends direct notifications to the home screen on my phone, urging me to adhere to the deadlines I set. These are ways that we (as people) can hold ourselves accountable.

Why is online business, marketing, etc. important?

Online businesses and marketing are so important in our modern-day society because they promote a scalable way to conduct business. An entrepreneur can form, build, and scale an online business from the comfort of his or her home, while using minimal human capital or labor by leveraging tools that automate functions like sales, marketing, and business development. The aforementioned are the stepping stones toward true freedom where one does not have to be bound to his or her desk.
