Abby Ryan Mooring is excited to announce that she will be making the transition from modelling to acting. After being acknowledged as a top model and recognized for her work at New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, and several fashion editorials, commercials, and music videos, she is excited to take the next step in her career.

Mooring has worked with some of the industry’s greatest names since beginning her modelling career. She has worked with a number of agents and agencies, including @theblockagency (Tennessee), @nymmg (New York/California), @therossagencyinc (Texas), @nichemodelsandtalent (Hawaii), and @soverneigntalent (La). Likewise, she acknowledges her manager and encourager, Marina Masowietsky @mcmmgt (Ca), who works tirelessly promoting, advising, and mentoring the talented young model.

Mooring grew up in the small North Carolina town of Bath, where she was heavily involved in sports. As a child, her life revolved around athletics. Since she was five years old, she has been playing volleyball, basketball, and softball. While she was heavily recruited in high school to play collegiate women’s basketball, Mooring realized that female athletes typically do not make much money, so she switched gears and began pursuing a modelling career. After a friend saw her senior pictures and a Virginia modelling agency contacted her through Instagram, her modelling career took off. She has been working as a model on a regular basis for the past three years.

Even though modelling and sports are quite different, Abby recognizes the similarities. Discipline and hard work are two of the significant similarities. Her high school coach, Michelle Leathers, paved the way for her with her discipline and never-say-die attitude. Furthermore, her time spent training for sports ingrained in her a winning diet and training strategy. To ensure she eats nutritiously and obtains the right nutrients, Mooring takes Juice Plus and follows a gluten-free, low-carb, and dairy-free diet. During the pandemic, she also switched to online circuit training, which focuses on body resistance motions and lighter weights.

In addition to her busy modelling and acting career, Mooring loves spending time with her family, friends and her dog hiking different trails around Los Angeles. Mooring prioritizes God in her life and is deeply committed to her family and close friends, who have been incredibly supportive. Because Mooring’s mother has lupus, she encourages others to give to finding a cure @lupusorg. Her mother has been her staunchest ally throughout her journey.

Mooring is focused, driven, and upbeat as she continues to hone her acting skills, keep a full modelling schedule, maintain an active social media presence, and work on her degree at East Carolina University online. She puts it this way: “You can be anything if you work hard! I love all the people I’ve met along the way so far: trainers, photographers, models, agencies, agents, hair and makeup artists, publicists, managers, actors and actresses.”

About Abby Ryan Mooring: Abby Ryan Mooring is a model, actress, and social media influencer who has had a great deal of success. The celebrated model has walked the runways of New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week and has collaborated with some of the industry’s top designers. She is now crossing over to focus more attention on acting.

Jackie Noelle is a New-York based Lifestyle Influencer who has a passion for Disney, her puppies, fashion, and travel! Family is also a core value for Jackie and spends tons of time with her family including her 8 cousins. She is blessed to be a part of such a large family with so much love and hopes to spread that love with her followers.

It is important to Jackie to be authentic throughout her social media and have genuine connections to all her followers. Jackie hopes to continue her influencer journey through Instagram, Youtube, Pinterest, LIKEtoKNOW.it, her own personal blog, and more while trying to inspire as many people as possible! Be sure to follow along on her journey through Instagram (@jackie.noelle) or her website JackieNoelleBlog.com.

Tell us about who you are and what you do.

I’m Jackie, I’m a twenty-something-year-old New Yorker who has a love for social media, marketing, and sharing my life and style with others. Through my Instagram account, I take my followers and me in my day-to-day life, sharing all the ups and downs I encounter and spreading positivity and encouragement.

I’m a huge Disney fan, a dog mom, a style guru, traveler, and more! I love sharing all my different interests through my Instagram and connecting with others who have similar interests! Making friends and connections through this platform is amazing, finding so many people you can connect with, it’s truly amazing the connections I have made!

How did your influencer journey start? What lead you to be where you are today?

I originally began my influencer journey as a Disney account, a fun account to post all my Disney adventures. I enjoyed posting all my fun Disney shots and meeting so many other Disney fans. Within six months of creating my account, I had over 6,000 followers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I realized I was running out of Disney content and would not be returning anytime soon due to travel restrictions. I didn’t want to lose my following so I converted to a lifestyle account where I now share my day-to-day life and since then I have grown my account to over 17,000 followers! It wasn’t an easy transition; rebranding did cost me to lose many Disney followers who only wanted to see Disney content, but I was able to appeal to new accounts who were more interested in Lifestyle Content than Disney posts. Rebranding isn’t always easy and takes quite a bit of work but in the end, was worth it and helped me to grow!

What does your brand mean to you? Why is your brand important?

My brand is very much me. I am a super bubbly, optimistic, and adventurous person and I feel my brand perfectly conveys me. I aim to inspire women to be the best version of themselves through my post storytelling as well as my blogs, vlogs, and more!

Developing my brand took me a while, it’s very important to me to stay authentic and capture myself as I am and not who I want people to see. I try my best to give my audience a genuine glimpse into my life through my posts. Through my captions is where I truly connect to my audience and engage through comments to relate and create genuine connections, this is a huge part of my brand!

What advice do you have for your followers?

My motto is always to be kind to others. You never know what is going on in someone else’s life and a small act of kindness may go further than you ever thought. In the wise words of Cinderella “Have Courage and be Kind”.

I always believe in paying it forward, when someone does something kind for you try and pay it forward and do something kind for someone else. It’s good karma and I firmly believe that whatever you put out into the universe will come back to you.

Be kind! That’s all there is to it!

What are the biggest challenges you face as an influencer?

When creating my brand I wanted to make sure to stay true to who I am and not just portray what I think people want to see. For example, I enjoy connecting with my audience through comments, stories, and DMs. I like to share intimate moments of my life as well as the struggles I face. Being vulnerable on the internet can be very difficult but if my stories can help at least one person they’re worth telling.

What are your goals for you and your brand?

I would love to expand my brand to reach a larger audience and continue to inspire young women to believe in themselves and keep pushing themselves to live the life they want. I would hope to eventually grow my account to a place where my brand is recognizable to my current followers as well as those who may be new to my page.

My ultimate dream for my brand would be to reach such a large audience that I can help to inspire as many young women as possible! The more reach I have the more impact I can make.

What message would you like to give to anybody who aspires to have a career as an influencer?

Go for it! You have to take the first initial step and get started. It’s not always easy to get started, but a million opportunities open up to you once you do. Once you do that everything will fall into place, even if you’re not making money right away, do it because you love it and the money will come!

The Slay Brand is a web-based clothing boutique, run by owner Kesha Tillman a Virginia native. Running strong for the past eight years, The Slay Brand offers fashionable styles that are always on-trend, while managing to be unique at the same time. The boutique which has tens of thousands of followers on Instagram attracts you to their fashion as soon as you click on their website. As a black-owned business, Slay Brand is dedicated to offering an aesthetic that caters to women of all shapes and sizes. With sizes ranging from XS to 3X on some designs, The Slay Brand prides itself on inclusivity.

According to Tillman, the idea behind The Slay Brand is that customers will be able to shop the site and find the perfect outfit for a night on the town, or a fashion-forward athletic set so that you can slay your workouts as well! Offering payment plan services such as After pay, this boutique wants you to look like a masterpiece without having to break the bank to do so. In addition to the array of payment options, there’s always some sort of sale that’s usually advertised on the site. Subscribers to the Slay Brand’s mailing list and text messages also receive exclusive deals.

While strolling The Slay Brand’s social media feeds, don’t be surprised if you find your favorite starlet rocking the brand. Women supporting women is the goal, and many of your faves reach out to the company seeking to get their Slay on as well. With so many versatile pieces, the possibilities are endless when it comes to styling that perfect look. In all, the owner of The Slay Brand wants every woman to know that whether it’s a pair of leggings and a custom Slay Brand graphic tee, or an eye-catching dress, you should always own your slay! More than likely this isn’t the first time you’ve heard of the brand, and it surely won’t be the last. The owner plans to take the brand to the next level by including a men’s line (because let’s face it, the fellas like to be on point too!), and eventually opening storefronts to offer an even more convenient shopping experience for customers.

When asked if she had any advice for anyone looking to embark on their journey in the retail business, Tillman responded, “Just go for it! Don’t focus on the people that are already doing it. You are unique and that uniqueness will shine through. Dare to be different and think outside of the box. Find a niche and cater to a specific market. Lastly, please make sure to do your homework. With education and determination, you’ll be dressing the masses in no time.”

Rich Taylor is a six-figure entrepreneur, author, and podcaster who began his entrepreneurial journey back in 2009 when he penned his debut novel. After writing a non-fiction book about men’s fashion and etiquette he transitioned into an online entrepreneur, launching a menswear brand, named after his son — Harrison Blake Apparel. The brand offers neckties, accessories, custom suits, and it’s featured offer — a popular monthly subscription service that delivers one necktie and four matching accessories every month for only $25. You can learn more about it at www.HarrisonBlakeApparel.com

Rich is now helping others grow their brand through photography, business coaching, and helping people build a personal brand. He’s grown his social media accounts to over 130,000 followers on Instagram alone and knows how to leverage social media to get positive business results. Learn more about that at www.TheGentWay.com

Tell us something about yourself?

I truly enjoy creating and so every day I have the opportunity to feel excited about what I do. Whether it’s designing a new suit or curating accessories and ties for my monthly subscription — there are no dull moments. I’m also an avid reader and learner, so I spend each day consuming information that inspires me and helps me improve my business skills. Being a family man with two children keeps my schedule full. Thanks to a very supportive wife, which I am grateful to have, I can juggle it all.

What is your entrepreneur’s story? How did you come about building your business?

I started in my business like most people, trying to solve a problem. From 2009 to 2013 I was self-publishing books with some success, but I wanted more opportunities to grow my income. I was intrigued by e-commerce and started to research the possibilities of selling items I was passionate about. For me, that was men’s fashion. I have been in love with the art of dressing well and being a sartorialist since I was a teenager.

Everything began with my love of lapel pins or boutonnieres, but in 2013 they were priced far too high in my opinion. Being creative I set out to make my own by hand. After several revisions, I finally cracked the code and figured out how to make them. People noticed, wanted them, and asked to purchase them. I soon placed them for sale on Etsy and began to sell them at a rapid pace. I knew I was onto something and needed to brand my products. I started my website and began marketing the business, primarily through social media. I was one of the first brands to leverage what is now called influencer marketing.

What that means is I purposely gave away free products to stylish guys I sought out on Instagram. They would then wear and promote my products to their audience and the business began to take off.

What is your business model — how were you able to grow so fast?

The most popular option our business offers is the best value in menswear. Our monthly subscription club is $25 per month and ships to homes and offices around the country (1 necktie and 4 matching accessories). The reason why it’s so popular is the value and quality of products shipped, coupled with the fact that the items are color-coordinated, allowing the average non-stylish guy the opportunity to look extremely polished and dapper, just by opening the package and wearing the coordinated set that includes bracelets, socks, tie bars and more. This turns a bland suit into a very fashionable look!

We grew rather quickly based on word of mouth, which was fueled by our small army of social media influencers. For the first few years of the business, we didn’t do any paid advertising, just gifting products to people, including YouTube reviewers and mom bloggers. The product makes for a perfect gift!

Can you give me an overview of who you are, what is your educational or overall background? What are some of your achievements?

I received my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and put that to use in the manufacturing sector in the Midwest. Before starting Harrison Blake Apparel I was working for a clothing manufacturer who created private labels and government-contracted clothing. I was serving as the Spreading and Cutting Table Supervisor for two shifts. I was responsible for the scheduling of the fabric being laid out on the 5, 120 foot long spreading tables and the cutting of the garments. I learned a great deal about fabrics, production and how garments were made, start to finish. I realized that with this knowledge, I could manufacture my products.

Since then I have a few accomplishments that bring me pride. I earned 5 Shades of Romance Awards for my writing in 2009 and in 2016 I was named one of the 100 Men of Color Award Recipients. Currently, I am n=most proud of being an inspiration to my children and mentoring them in the field of entrepreneurship.

What have you learned through your experiences as an entrepreneur that can be used by aspiring business individuals?

Over this journey, I have learned that the most important thing you can do to be successful is to gain a winning mindset. You have to find a way to be positive and resilient. Developing a business is more than just finding sales prospects, advertising and converting clients. Continue educating yourself and developing new skills is so essential.

Finding ways to meet like-minded people who understand the entrepreneurial life is also very helpful. It’s not for everyone and some people just won’t understand your drive. Of course, there are days when even you will feel down. So, know your “why” — meaning your purpose for being in business. Money can’t be the motivator. It has to be something deeper that resonates inside of you to keep pushing, even through the tough times.

What makes your business so unique and successful?

Harrison Blake Apparel is unique because we are the first monthly subscription to make the color of our curated items coordinating and we do not source products to include each month. All of our offerings are manufactured and created specifically for our brand.

In addition to that, we are more than just a monthly subscription. Customers can shop ala carte and select their items and as of 2019, you can even create your custom made-to-measure suit or dress shirt. Interested in a custom suit experience? Drop us a line at contact@harrisonblakeapparel.com

Lastly, we aim to educate and entertain the consumer through our Podcast, titled after my first non-fiction book, The Life of a Gentleman. Each episode I interview another successful business owner or content creator in the menswear space and we chat about actionable steps people can take to chase after their dreams. You can hear the podcast on iTunes.

What have you learned through your journey as an entrepreneur?

I have learned patience and humility. Face it, we will all make mistakes in business. That is part of the journey. Every product idea isn’t a grand slam. Sometimes things don’t go as planned. That’s when you g back to the drawing board and strategize your next winning move.

What skills and attributes make you as successful as you are?

I believe that I am successful because I am doing what I love to do. My greatest assets are a strong work ethic and the drive to leave a legacy. I am quite the introvert by nature, but the business has gotten me out of my shell and helped me become an amazing communicator. I love creating and solving problems, so when times get rough — I will figure a way to win. As I have transitioned into coaching others, I now get the chance to interact with so many different people and watch them have success. That inspires me! If you want to learn more drop me a line at rich@thegentway.com

Why is online business, marketing, etc important?

For me, it has been crucial to my business growth. Without social media and the online world, I wonder where the business would be. These days, everyone in business needs to realize that they are their brand. You must understand that social media is a skill and there are strategies that you can use to win big. Traditional advertising is dying and it’s time to realize that there are legitimate ways to get positive attention for yourself or your business. I am hoping some people reach out because I’d love to share some strategies that can help. My entire business is online. We are e-commerce only and have no plans for brick and mortar locations. Face it, Malls and shopping centers are closing all around us. The future is digital and online.

She has previously collaborated with brands like Jimmy Choo, Clarins, Givenchy Beauty, Reebok, Essie, Uniqlo, Lafayette 148 NY, and Lancome in her journey! Check her out on Instagram @stylebymalvika, or her site, www.stylebymalvika.com.

Tell us about who you are and what you do.

Hi everyone! My name is Malvika and I’m a 22-year-old, early college graduate that decided to tackle her untapped passions of creating, media, fashion, and beauty. I’ve always believed in the power of fashion and beauty to transform your life and level-up your confidence, and I wanted to share this with the world. With my content, I hope to empower other driven dreamers to use both luxury fashion and beauty as creative outlets to achieve even their wildest dreams. I’ve been creating content full-time for 1.5 years on Instagram, YouTube, and my blog, but more recently have joined platforms such as TikTok, Zynn, PrismPop, and Shop Lit Live!

Tell us how you created this brand and what was the sole idea behind it.

Stylebymalvika started during a sporadic shopping outing with my college friend in my sophomore year. At the time, she had created her poetry blog and recognized how obsessed I was with clothes, media, and the intersection of the two. My friend helped push me in the direction of putting my talents out there online. I am so grateful for that moment, and for having had a person like that around me at the age of 18. I have had a history of extremely low self-confidence, and that’s why I’m so passionate about doing what I do. I do not want other women to limit their thinking, and if, through sharing fashion and beauty inspiration, I can help them even 10% of the amount that my friend did, I’m extremely satisfied.

My brand has, of course, evolved. With the direction of where social media is going, I’ve enjoyed challenging myself through creating more short video form content and live streaming sessions as well. While Instagram is my first love, I am enjoying branching out to platforms like TikTok. It’s a new experience for me, as well as the new audiences I’m building.

Go in detail and tell us about how your brand works.

Having built a large South Asian audience, I recognize that my platform has a responsibility as well. I am naturally extremely close to her culture–in fact, I’m a professionally trained Indian Classical dancer, and it’s still a big part of my life today. While my content revolves quite a bit around how to use luxury fashion and beauty to feel your best, I also mix in a lot of my culture into what I do, and actively talk about unrealistic beauty standards whether on my platform or others. Coming back to the platforms, I like to stay quite active. I post daily on Instagram, 4-6 times a day on TikTok, 2-3 times a day on Zynn, 1-2 times a month on YouTube, and 1-2 times a month on my blog. When I take on brand partnerships, I make sure it would be something I would talk about even if I wasn’t being paid to do so–it has to make sense in the context of my life and should resonate well with the people that view my work.

What is your giveaway idea through this interview? Highlight something that may interest the readers on a one to one basis.

One of the topics I’m growing more and more aware of and passionate about is sustainability. I’ve started a closet on Wear Wardrobe with some of my favorite luxury pieces that you can rent for affordable prices! The best part is that if you sign up through my link, you get a $25 credit (which would allow you to rent almost any of the designer pieces on the site for 4 days). You can sign up using this link.

Explain the challenges you went through while you were working on brand creation. What are the challenges you go through on an everyday basis?

Self-doubt is my biggest challenge. Sometimes I wish I could stop myself from overthinking and just post. However, I’ve had to use discipline to combat self-doubt. As a dancer, discipline is a value that is deeply embedded into me, so sticking to a routine posting schedule helps stop me from allowing my self-limiting thoughts to take over. Second, I would say the fear of failure truly was a part of who I was. I had a terrifying experience wherein my Instagram was hacked just after I had decided to make content creation my full-time career after graduating, and this taught me that even if the worst happens, it is not the end of the world. There are ways and means to get around your obstacles, always! Sometimes it takes a little creative problem solving and strategy, and other times, just an impenetrable will.

How do you manage your finances through the services you offer. Any fundings etc received?

Since day one, I’ve been completely self-funded. When I was in school and working on my platform, I worked 2-3 jobs on campus and used that money to put back into the ‘Stylebymalvika’ brand, whether that meant taking content creation courses or hiring someone to help me figure out how to use various editing software. I still remember I had a dream to go to New York Fashion Week and to make that happen, I had to save up a good chunk of money, all the while reaching out to over 100 PR firms and individuals who were in charge of the guest lists. Today, I regularly get to go to my favorite shows across New York, Milan, and Paris fashion weeks! I have to throw this in there, too. I am grateful to my parents for supporting me emotionally, and for allowing me to do what I love from the comfort of the home that I grew up in even after graduation, as that is undoubtedly a financial boon. That being said, I do have plans to move out in the new year!

Tell us your future vision about the brand. How far do you want to take it? What is your dream about taking it to the next level?

I love being transparent about my vision–in fact, I have my vision board right in front of me right now. My biggest dream on that board is to be on the cover of all of the three major VOGUE’s, Italian, American, and French. I haven’t seen women like me on those covers, and I’m here to make sure other girls do not go through the same thing. We’ll get there, step by step.

What message would you like to give to anybody who has a plan of creating something of their own and making a living through it?

Remember that all self-limiting beliefs stem from the idea that we are trying to please others. The minute you find your calling, remember that is what you need to pursue to please yourself. Within that calling, you should be providing value in some way, shape, or form, to others, but it should feel natural. When you’re on the path of that calling, make sure you continue to block out noise that doesn’t serve your growth. Keep calm, and carry on.
