Tell us about who you are and what you do.

My name is Samia Perveen. I am a 27-year-old Pakistani Blogger, born and raised in UAE. I live with my family. I completed my inter in 2012 and then did both full-time and part-time jobs as a receptionist cum marketing executive. I am an introvert. I have a passion for photography and social media marketing. I am trying to make my mark on the world. 

Tell us how you created this brand and what was the sole idea behind it.

I have created my Instagram handle years back. It’s only after I lost my job in 2020 due to covid, I started focusing on my account. I started writing reviews for brands and to my surprise, in no time, I collaborated with several leading brands. I have recently collaborated with 20 well-known brands. I am currently working on it.  

I also have a passion for photography and want to pursue a career in it. Luckily I have been invited to officially cover the RAK Fine Arts Festival, a great opportunity to experience and learn photography. 

The idea behind creating my account was to do social media marketing for brands that I love doing and post anything that pleases my heart – The only place where I can speak and do without any dictation.

I promote the products and services by promoting a brand as a whole. I do social media marketing to build awareness about the respective brand and its products to generate sales. I create awareness about a product in the form of photos and videos. I write honest reviews after trying out the products. 

What is your giveaway idea through this interview? Highlight something that may interest the readers on a one to one basis.

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank CEO Medium for interviewing me and featuring me in their magazine. I am honored. 

DONT LOSE HOPE. Be patient when it comes to achieving your goals. There are no shortcuts to the path of success. To reach the top, patience, hard work, dedication, and strong determination is required. 

It took me years to reach the point where I am now and this is the only advice I would give to readers that HAVE FAITH, nothing is impossible. 

I believe if we have strong faith in God, He is always there to unfold the heavens to us.

Explain the challenges you went through while you were working on brand creation. What are the challenges you go through on an everyday basis?

I am an introvert and an extremely sensitive person because of my tough childhood days. I do not open up easily. Speaking up itself is challenging for me. People have always ruthlessly criticized me for who I am but I have fought and successfully reached here. I have always been a victim of bullying and constant criticism which shattered my confidence. Building one, coming out of my comfort zone, doing blogging, meeting new people, interacting, etc all is very challenging for me. I have lots of fears and I am trying to overcome them. I belonged to a strict family which also contributed to who I was. But Alhamdulillah I have now immense support from my family, my mother, my sisters especially my twinnie Sumayya and of course my brother, who has always advised me TO BE YOURSELF no matter what. Despite being a low key person, my interests are opposite. My interest in marketing and I love doing photography both required constant interaction with new people now and then. 

The most challenging thing is to make people realize that it’s not an easy job. Neither people nor brands understand the efforts that we put into a single post (review). There is a tough competition out there in this field. You have to work hard and make sure you present the quality content to the viewers and your reviews are distinctly different from others. It’s not just a copy-paste thing. I have to work late at night to create quality content. 

The second most challenging thing in this field is you are judged based on your number of followers. When I am approached by brands for collaborations, I show them my work. But the next question I get from them is, how many followers do you have? As much as it’s important to influence the masses to help a business grow, the content should matter as much. 

How do you manage your finances through the services you offer. Any fundings etc received?

Initially, I wasn’t being paid by brands to do marketing and I was also jobless. My family supported me despite the odds because of my passion. After lots of struggle and hard work, today I am being paid for all the services I offer. 

Tell us your future vision about the brand. How far do you want to take it? What is your dream about taking it to the next level?

I want to create a positive impact on the masses through my platform. I want to be known for my work. There is no stop or end in this field. You just keep moving forward and forward. The sky is the limit. 

What message would you like to give to anybody who has a plan of creating something of their own and making a living through it?

Nothing can be achieved without any struggle. Whichever field you opt for or are passionate about, just know that it will be an extremely slow process and requires lots and lots of struggles. You will gradually grow. But only with hard work, patience, determination, being focused, no time limit, extreme dedication, you will achieve your goals. You don’t have to get disappointed if you don’t get the desired results soon. For this specific field, you need to have strong convincing power and you need to be completely aware of the public’s interests. 

I would like to mention my best friend Sandeep, who showed immense support throughout my journey. She is not a namesake friend, she proved to be one. She worked for me both in front and behind the camera.

I would like to end this conversation with my mother’s advice to me

“If you think you are going to get failed and you are sure about it 99.9% and still 0.1% there is a chance, then TAKE IT. No matter what situation you are in, no matter what profession you opt for, and no matter where you stand, TAKE THE CHANCE AND LEAVE NO REGRETS.”

“Moms need to have one place that they can go and be confident that they have the best answers for their situation.” A paid Facebook group, Homeschool Christian Mom, is in the launch stage. This group offers timely access to homeschool help when moms have an “I’m stuck” moment during the day. Moms can pay by the month to have Elizabeth and her team on their side.

Elizabeth knows a LOT about homeschooling. In addition to teaching her children, she ran the gym class for a homeschooling group for 24 years. The difficulty for her with her business was the technical aspects. She is now in a program with coach Lindsey Anderson so that she can get that assistance. She had to buckle down to learn the ins and outs of website design, social marketing, and copywriting. 

Then 2020 came along and it seemed like EVERYONE was homeschooling. You might think that would have helped her business but it was the opposite! Now she was competing for SEO with The Washington Post, The New York Times, and everyone else. So Elizabeth is now considering niching down even further to feature weekly art projects. (She originally started as an art teacher.)

 “I would love to have opportunities to speak to homeschooling groups at conventions. I want to let moms know that they can do a good job homeschooling. It takes work. You have to be intentional. You have to do a lot of praying! But you can do it and help your children make a successful transition to college and life” says Elizabeth.

Elizabeth: I have learned that starting an online business is more complicated than I originally thought. There are the technical aspects, learning to sell, keeping a schedule, and interacting with people. But I keep on going and trying and learning. If you need to take a class or two, it is worth it. That kind of investment in yourself is invaluable. There is a lot of satisfaction in being able to help people all over the country.

Hina Adnan; a dentist by profession and a blogger by choice. After giving birth to my beautiful daughter in Riyadh, the only thing that I had in my mind was to keep my sanity alive regardless. Raising a kid and going to the hospital was no joke back then so I happily took a career break and decided to do something worthy (from home). One year later, here I am successfully (if I may say so) and happily using my space to share and talk about lifestyle, food, travel, motherhood, and much more! It’s not something very extraordinary but ordinary in a beautiful way.

Tell us how you created this brand and what was the sole idea behind it?

I’m always the happy-go-lucky kind of person! Always cheering others up and always finding a reason to call it a day! Blogging was never my ultimate goal – no kidding! I made a blog just by the way to remind myself that I’m doing something for myself at-least.

I have always believed that before a wife, mother, and daughter, there was a person in me too. An actual person. I did not want that person to be lost somewhere. Hence, I thought let’s use this platform to express what I genuinely feel. A place where I’m just a person with so much on my mind. I can finally be myself for as long as I want to be.

There is no competition for me and I am not in the rat race to be the best blogger and please everyone. As mentioned before, I try to be as genuine as possible, therefore, I just go with the flow. I don’t plan my blog. Every day, I have a different mood and so I let the vibe decide for me. My page is for everyone, there is a little bit of everything here for everyone. I have a lot of male followers too who enjoy my food reviews and travel experiences as well.

What is your giveaway idea through this interview? Highlight something that may interest the readers on a one to one basis.

Very old school but ‘live and let live!’ After so much going on around us during the past year, I just want everyone to celebrate small things in life. Count your blessings and be grateful for what you have in life. Travel, eat out, make memories with your loved ones, and call it a day! 🙂

Explain the challenges you went through while you were working on brand creation. What are the challenges you go through on an everyday basis?

I have always underestimated myself in general which is not a very good thing of course! I had doubts before starting my blog because there were so many bloggers out there and it was a mad race about chasing followers and flaunting them. With time, I started understanding the world of blogging more and now I can say that I’m much confident than before still not 10/10 but I think it’s better than being overconfident.

How do you manage your finances through the services you offer. Any fundings etc received?

With partnerships and sponsorships, although it’s not as easy as it may sound or look. Devotion and hard work is the only key to success. 

Tell us your future vision about the brand. How far do you want to take it? What is your dream about taking it to the next level?

Let’s not spill all the beans at once! 😉 But one thing for sure: it was always genuine and worthy enough!

What message would you like to give to anybody who has a plan of creating something of their own and making a living through it?

Patience and patience my friend! And then comes, time and energy. You should use your own space if you’re passionate enough and loves to talk!

  I am a 21-year-old student studying Accounting full-time at University. On the side, I run a blog called The Unpredicted page where I talk about life advice, healthy living, and occasionally some blogging tips. I have always loved writing and having people read my work so blogging was an ideal hobby for me that I eventually managed to get monetized.

Tell us how you created this blog and what was the sole idea behind it.

I like to help people with issues that I have stumbled across myself. I am currently writing a series around Instagram and how to grow an account on there that you can start monetizing. I have had about 8 paid collabs on Instagram and I know other people would like my tips on how I made that happen.  I also managed to grow my account to 5k followers in 5 months. I started my blog in lockdown in April 2020 when I had nothing to do and I was googling ways to make money on the side and blogging came up! I had never really considered being a blogger before that but the idea stuck with me and I couldn’t let it go so I decided to try it.

I write advice and tips based on everyday life struggles, traveling, baking tips, money hacks, healthy living advice and so much more. I try and make sure there is something that can help everyone on my blog so I can attract a bigger audience.

Explain the challenges you went through while you were working on blog creation. What are the challenges you go through on an everyday basis?

Having enough time is a massive challenge. A blog takes a lot of work and time as well as running an Instagram on the side. You have to write, take pictures, create a schedule, promote, engage with your audience and so many more things! Of course, as my university works get harder I will have to focus on that more and my blog might have to take a step back. However, I refuse to give it up completely. It is something that I love doing and I have worked hard on growing it so I do not plan for all of that hard work to go to waste. So having time to get everything done to the right standard is something that I struggle with.

How do you manage your finances through the services you offer. Any fundings etc received?

I have put all of my own money into my blog and already I have made back the money I spent since monetizing my blog.

Tell us your future vision about the blog. How far do you want to take it? What is your dream about taking it to the next level?

I would love to be a full-time blogger. I want to work for myself and work on my own time schedule. There is no limit to the amount of money you can make and I have seen amazing blogger success stories that constantly motivate me to stick at it. I would love for my blog traffic to grow and more people see my writing.

What message would you like to give to anybody who has a plan of creating something of their own and making a living through it?

You cannot manifesto something without putting the work into it. You will have to invest in yourself if you want to get anywhere. Investing is the hardest step and you are worried if you will be able to make it all back but honestly, it is so worth it.

I jumped on the ‘influencer’ bandwagon in ways that could only be labeled spontaneous. I created my first Facebook page, shared a few posts, and that’s when it officially started. Shortly after, I moved to KSA and set up my business profile on Instagram after getting in touch with a few renowned bloggers and religiously following their suggestions. Today, my followers are nearing 30K and every day is more amazing than the last. Blog_by_sundusali features delicious treats and trendy fashion – it thrives as an extension of everything there is to love about life.

For me, fashion tops the list and my audience is a wonderful bunch of kindred spirits who I make sure to keep in the loop, always! From tracking recent trends to tapping other female-centric concepts, there’s something for everyone. Needless to say, I’m in this for the long haul!

I’m no health nut, but I’m pretty particular about fueling my body with the right kind of sustenance. So naturally, I’ve been leaning towards healthier lifestyle choices, which, further down the line, will become a prominent theme throughout my blog.

I struggle with self-doubt just like all the other strong ladies out there. There are good days and bad days, and the fear of being scrutinized under the lens can be incredibly unnerving when it comes to brand creation. Nevertheless, I work on myself every day and it pays off!

Going online is a massive business today and it offers sufficient financial stability. With brand sponsorships, influencers – like myself – can make good money while enjoying what they do. It can be overwhelming, but it’s worth it.

My goal is to venture deeper into the lifestyle niche, explore further avenues, and create amazing content for my social media family. I strive to grow, learn new things, and excel at what I know while taking my audience along on the journey with me.

What message would you like to give to anybody who has a plan of creating something of their own and making a living through it?

Reaping the benefits of content creation requires commitment, time, and effort. You need to be social, and what you produce should be exciting enough to bring you closer to people in your community. At the end of the day, consistency, skill, and staying relevant are key.
