Dr. Ricardo Rossello is an innovative scientist, best-selling author, distinguished professor, and former Governor of Puerto Rico, giving him a rare combination of achievements across a range of elite disciplines. Dr. Rossello is currently the Chief Vision Officer of the Regenerative Medicine Institute, a global leader in longevity and stem cell research. We spoke with him about the future of the science of life extension.

_______________

Q: Dr. Rosselló, what do you see as the biggest breakthrough in understanding longevity and aging?

RICARDO ROSSELLO: One of the most significant breakthroughs was the discovery of how cellular reprogramming can reverse biological aging. Shinya Yamanaka’s identification of four genes that can reset cells to an embryonic-like state opened the door to the possibility of slowing or even reversing aging at a fundamental level. Also, the development of epigenetic clocks has allowed us to precisely measure the biological aging process, which lets us design targeted interventions. The recognition of aging as a disease by the World Health Organization in 2022 spurred significant investment and innovation in this field. At RMI and with a nascent longevity fund, we are leveraging these advances to develop therapies that improve not just lifespan, but healthspan, which refers to the years we spend in good health.

Q: As the Chief Visionary Officer of RMI Health, you’ve focused heavily on personalized medicine. What advantages does this approach offer patients?

RICARDO ROSSELLO: Personalized medicine allows us to tailor interventions based on an individual’s unique biological profile. We analyze factors such as genomic data, gut microbiome composition, and epigenetic markers to create a customized “bio-blueprint” for longevity. We can then implement specific lifestyle changes and cellular therapies that address aging at its core. We’re looking for ways that we can adjust treatments and optimize outcomes that improve the overall quality of life for our patients.

Q: How do you address some of the ethical concerns around longevity research and access to treatment?

RICARDO ROSSELLO: This question is central to the research I have done. We are mindful that novel therapies lend themselves to exaggerated claims at best and snake oil at worst. At every stop, including RMI, my position has been to place the research and the outcomes first. Processes should go through rigorous clinical evaluation before being implemented. They must be, first and foremost, safe. We are also mindful that current treatments are expensive. This tends to be the path towards getting procedures democratized. Our mid-to-long-term goal is to develop scalable and affordable therapies that can be widely distributed. We want to extend and improve not just the length but also the quality of life, helping people remain healthy and active for longer.

Q: How is RMI Health utilizing AI to advance longevity science?

RICARDO ROSSELLO: The emergent properties with RMI and AI are boundless. It is the stuff of science fiction. Digital twins, instant patient-specific solutions, predictive medicine. We are constantly pushing ourselves to be at the forefront of AI and Biology. At RMI Health, we collaborate with data scientists to use AI for predictive modeling, optimizing treatment protocols, and uncovering new therapeutic targets. AI helps us personalize interventions more effectively by analyzing patient-specific genetic and epigenetic markers.

Q: Looking ahead, what do you envision for the future of longevity science, and what role will RMI Health play in it?

RICARDO ROSSELLO: We are at the dawn of a new era in longevity science. A Time Magazine article last week covered a new development in gene therapy that has the potential to act as a “biological rewind button” for optic-nerve cells, returning them to a pre-diseased state. Think about it. We can actually turn the clock back on cells. It is scientifically proven. Now, it is an engineering and clinical problem to apply it. There’s a real race to reverse time at a cellular level, and we’re excited to be a part of it. We have the potential to create a future where people live longer, healthier, and more vibrant lives.

Following his return to the Oval Office on January 20, 2025, President Donald Trump swiftly issued a slew of Executive Orders (EOs), with several poised to significantly affect the propane industry.

With global economics playing a central role in determining fuel prices, including propane, commercial propane provider DCC Propane, LLC has reviewed the early implications of these policy changes and what they could mean for both businesses and end users.

Executive Orders with Key Impacts on Propane

Among the numerous directives signed by President Trump, several stand out for their potential influence on the propane sector:

Tariff Adjustments: Changes to tariffs related to the energy sector are intended to boost domestic and global competitiveness.

Energy Emergency Declaration: This EO brings high energy costs to the forefront, signaling government attention to price stabilization.

Streamlining of Domestic Energy Development: By reducing red tape and expediting permitting, the administration aims to expand domestic production capacity.

Policy for Energy Source Neutrality: A push for appliance neutrality and energy choice is designed to eliminate bias toward any specific type of energy, fostering fair market conditions.

Expanded R&D Opportunities: Federal grants formerly limited to electric vehicle initiatives are being redirected to support innovation across various alternative energy sectors, including propane.

Positive Outlook: EOs May Strengthen the Propane Market

Another pivotal EO was the creation of the National Energy Dominance Council, as outlined on the official White House website. The Council’s mission is to advance the development of America’s energy resources, reducing dependence on foreign suppliers and reinforcing national energy security.

The White House emphasizes that “energy dominance” is critical for ensuring affordable, stable energy prices for Americans.

Looking back at President Trump’s earlier term provides some reassurance to industry stakeholders. During that time, the U.S. became a net energy exporter for the first time in nearly seven decades. Millions of acres were opened for energy exploration, new jobs were generated, and households reportedly saved an average of $2,500 annually on energy bills.

At the recent CERAWeek by S&P Global, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum highlighted the strategic value of America’s natural resource base, comparing its potential to offsetting the nation’s $36 trillion debt. “Interest rates are among our largest financial burdens,” he noted. “Unlocking the value of our energy reserves, as President Trump is aiming to do, could positively shift our financial outlook.”

Challenges the Propane Industry May Face

Despite potential benefits, not all feedback from the propane sector has been enthusiastic. The

National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) voiced a couple of key concerns regarding the EOs.

As reported by LP Gas Magazine, NPGA President and CEO Steve Kaminski pointed to tariffs on imported propane components as a primary issue. “Many of our manufacturers rely on steel tanks and cylinders produced overseas. A 25% import tariff on these items presents a real challenge,” Kaminski explained.

Another concern lies with tariffs imposed on Canadian propane imports. With an estimated $1.9 billion in annual propane flow from Canada to the U.S., a 10% tariff could result in an added cost of $190 million per year.

Additional tension stems from increasing friction with China. President Trump’s new 125% tariffs on Chinese imports have prompted retaliatory measures—Beijing has introduced tariffs of 84% on U.S. goods. Reuters reports that this has led to Chinese petrochemical producers, who import roughly $11 billion in U.S. propane annually, planning production cutbacks or maintenance shutdowns to cope with rising input costs.

Despite these headwinds, Kaminski remains cautiously optimistic: “Monitoring the administration’s tariff approach is one of our top priorities. However, the new energy-friendly leadership at the Department of Energy, Department of Transportation, and EPA gives us an unprecedented chance to position propane as a leading fuel alternative.”

Guidance for Businesses and Consumers

Given propane’s spotlight in recent policy changes, Reena Mistry, Sales and Marketing Director at DCC Propane, LLC, encourages both commercial and residential users to reassess their energy strategies.

“Take time to evaluate your energy demands. Propane offers reliable solutions for heating and operational needs,” Mistry suggested. “Connecting with a propane provider can reveal cost-saving opportunities, whether you’re switching fuels or expanding propane usage.”

Mistry also emphasized the importance of staying informed: “As domestic production scales up and permitting becomes more efficient under the new EOs, be proactive in tracking any new regulations or incentives that might affect propane pricing and supply.”

With President Trump’s second term prioritizing American energy independence, the propane industry finds itself at a crucial juncture. While new executive policies may pave the way for growth and increased domestic energy output, the trade-offs, particularly around tariffs require close scrutiny.

Industry leaders and consumers alike will need to navigate both the challenges and opportunities that this evolving landscape presents.

The Three Fastest Growing Construction Jobs

Solar PV Installers

Solar PV installer jobs are expected to have the highest rate of growth through 2033 at a whopping 48%, with the most jobs being added in California, Texas, and Florida. This enormous growth rate can likely be attributed to an increasing demand for green building materials, the market share for which is projected to grow by 12.7% annually through 2030. In addition to a high growth rate, solar panel installers earn a median salary of $48,000 per year, slightly more than the median salary of all construction workers ($45,300).

Electricians

Electrician jobs are also expected to see a considerable increase in the coming years, with an annual growth rate of 11% through 2033. The demand for electrician jobs can be attributed to the push for renewable energy, as federal and state incentives for clean energy projects have led to a surge in demand for electricians skilled in installing and maintaining wind turbines, battery storage systems, and other green energy solutions. The median salary for electricians is $61,590, well over the median salary for all construction workers.

Laborers

New jobs for construction laborers, who are tasked with using, supplying, or holding materials or tools and cleaning work areas and equipment on construction sites, are expected to increase by nearly 120,000 by 2033, with an annual growth rate of 7%. Since laborers make up the bulk of the construction industry, the demand for new jobs can be tied to the expected increase in construction projects, with contributing factors including a growing population, urbanization, government infrastructure projects, and a need for housing development., Despite this increase in demand, construction laborers earn a median salary of just $44,310, which is below the average salary of all construction workers.

Calum Mair, Commercial Director of North America for EPD, said of the findings:

“While it’s positive to see the construction industry as a whole bounce back in 2025, it’s especially encouraging to see green construction and renewable energy projects driving the demand for new jobs in the industry. With over 400,000 new jobs needing to be filled this year alone, it’s more important than ever before for construction firms to attract and retain workers. We recommend investing in workforce development programs, such as training initiatives, to attract and upskill new employees.”

As new construction projects—particularly those in green construction and renewable energy—take shape in 2025, the demand for skilled workers in jobs like solar PV installers and electricians is expected to surge. This increasing demand creates a wealth of opportunities for workers looking to enter the construction industry in professions with bright career outlooks.
When our space is cluttered it is a direct reflection with where our mental health is currently at. Look around you right now. Is it neat and tidy or are there things everywhere? When was the last time you did a good ol fashion Marie Kondo on your home? I am sharing with you my top ten methods to feel clear headed and ready to conquer anything that comes my way. Here are some ways to truly embody that inner goddess that you were destined to be.

1. Marie Kondo that ish – Physically go through your house and declutter. If you haven’t used it in 3 months – donate it! A good way to go about this so you don’t feel overwhelmed is to pick one room at a time. Make sure everything in that room brings you joy or is a necessity. Create a home for every item in this space. If your feeling attached to an item that you no longer use, ask yourself why. My life memo is we can’t accept new manifestations and new things in our lives if there is no space for them. Go make that space.

2. Brain Dump – We have so many things circulating in our minds at all times (especially if you’re a creator archetype) sometimes you just need a good ol’ fashion brain dump. Get that journal out and just let it flow. All the to-do’s, all the things heavy on your heart, all the thoughts that are creating chaos – get it all out. Do not worry about it being organized, you can sort out a to-do or inspiration list from it later. Just free flow, messy write, and release all your holding on too judgment-free. Take up space and be proud of it. I highly encourage you to write pen and paper, there is just something about the connection of physically seeing it leave your mind to the paper. Your brain scientifically feels safe seeing it visually and will release it. Doing a voice memo on your phone or in notes just does not have the same effect.

3. Have a solid morning routine – A morning routine will change your life, I promise you this. Do not pick up your phone until these five things have been completed. I have all of my clients get up and first thing drinks water. Our bodies are dehydrated and have not had water in eight hours so you’re starting off by immediately nourishing your body and showing yourself some self-love. Next is to move your body for 10 minutes. There are so many ways to incorporate this but just do what feels good to you. A few of my favorites are stretching, spiral movement (releases feminine energy), a quick yoga flow, or stretching. Meditation for ten minutes. Be still and see what downloads for you. After your meditation picks your top three intentions for the day. I usually pick something I have to do, something I want to do, and something that will put me one step closer to my BIG GOAL. The last thing before you can move and groove on with your day is to gratitude journal for ten minutes. This can include affirmations, free-flow writing, a traditional “I’m thankful for..” list but it is setting up the emotion of gratitude to carry with you throughout your day.

4. Get Outside – We need mother earth to ground and be centered. If you don’t have time for a hike or adventure then simply go lay your hands on the earth for five minutes. Remember the ground has always got you. There’s nowhere else to fall. You feel safe, secure, and at peace doing this simple practice.

5. Be Present – Mindfulness is an amazing way to feel centered and eliminate overwhelm. “I can’t though it’s too hard to keep my mind quiet.” I’ve got you – Light a candle and stare at the flame. Any time thought about the past or future pops up just observe it. Imagine it just floating by. Do not get mad at yourself for having it, just notice the thought and then let it go. Keep your eye on the flame. Notice a smell around you. Feel the ground beneath you. What’s the surface like? Be in your body for that moment. Start small – 1 minute and then work your way up in time increments. There are a ton of options for free meditations.

6. Breathing – Our breath is POWERFUL. A few quick breathing techniques you can do to feel decluttered are balancing your right and left brain. Plug one nostril and breath in and out through your nose for ten breaths and then switch nostrils. This will also help in balancing your masculine and feminine energy. Another favorite is to take a breath in through your nose for 5 seconds, hold for 6 seconds and exhale through your mouth for 7 seconds. Do these as many times as you need until you feel a sense of calm.

7. Distraction – Sometimes to declutter we need a distraction. Maybe you’re going through a break up? Dealing with something heavy? We can’t always be clear and focused and when we get in these states it’s a good idea to distract. Call a friend, see how they’re doing, take your dog for a walk, make a painting, tap into that inner child and play.

8. Dance – I have a standing desk so I can dance and shake it throughout the day. Our hips are where the majority of our trauma is stored so when we shake our body and dance we are clearing our energetic fields on a scientific level without even knowing it. Sometimes that clutter in our minds needs to be moved through our bodies and released or we just simply have stagnant energy that needs to move and flow.

9. Data Declutter – I know it sounds silly but sometimes taking an hour and clearing your email inbox, sorting it in folders, and responding to all of the “I’ll get to it later” will motivate you like no other.

10. Unplug and Unwind – Our bodies need stillness. We are humans not machines. Sometimes all we need is a solid unplug. Put the phone in a different room and take some time doing something you love. Maybe it’s a book you’ve been meaning to read, a podcast you’ve been dying to tune into, whatever your jam is, make time for it. We come back to the task at 100% instead of the procrastination and dread which has been driving us with no breaks.

Decluttering your mind all starts with one simple thing. A choice. You make the decision to do it and pick one thing a day to incorporate into your routine. Decide who you want to be and start showing up for her every single day. Most of all allow yourself grace. As cliche as it sounds life is a journey and we are here to learn lessons along the way.
